Question: Did Democratic voters in Detroit cause fraud?

It is true that voters in the Detroit area have caused some major problems dealing with the 2016 Presidential Election; including fraud. Studies have found "evidence" to manifest their claims.

Origin and Prevalence

The claim that voter fraud has been exposed in Detroit was highly talked about topic in the news in December of 2016. A news article, Detroit recount reveals major vote fraud by Dems, published by News Now on December 11, 2016 reported that the votes Democratic votes in the Detroit area had been recounted up to six times. The article also states ballots were not able to be tallied due to major discrepancies with the ballot counts. It was concluded that there was indeed vote fraud from the Democratic votes in the Detroit area. News now also reported, "…the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662" (News Now [https://www.onenewsnow.com/politics-govt/2016/12/11/detroit-recount-reveals-major-vote-fraud-by-dems]). The reason for this mess up was said to be due to machine malfunction, but that was not the case. The article stated machines were not properly set to count each vote individually. Each vote was double counted, leading to fraud (News Now [https://www.onenewsnow.com/politics-govt/2016/12/11/detroit-recount-reveals-major-vote-fraud-by-dems]).

This was backed up by an article that was released by World Net Daily, on December 8, 2016. The article, Recount Uncovers Serious Fraud in Detroit, reported one-third of the votes in Detroit were unable to count towards the poll due to discrepancies. This article agreed with the article above, Detroit recount reveals major vote fraud by Dems, by stating that due to 59 percent of the votes not matching the polls books, those books could not be counted (World Net Daily [http://www.wnd.com/2016/12/recount-uncovers-serious-fraud-in-detroit/]). It also stated that the machines are set up to double count the votes in order to make the Democrats have the winning vote in the Detroit area.

Another article on the issue was published by the Detroit Free Press, on December 18, 2016. The article, Detroit's election woes: 782 more votes than voters, reported that there were only 248 people in Detroit who has voted in the 2016 Presidential Election, but, there were a total of 782 votes counted by voting machines (Detroit Free Press [http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2016/12/18/detroit-ballots-vote-recount-election-stein/95570866/]).

It was also stated that approximately 60 percent of Detroit precincts were not eligible for recount (Detroit Free Press [http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/detroit/2016/12/18/detroit-ballots-vote-recount-election-stein/95570866/]). This was due to the number of ballots in the ballot box not matching the number of people listed as voting in the poll book. This article did not state that it was fraud, it stated that they were ruling it a human error, until further investigation.

Issues and Analysis

Experts had many of the same views on that voters in Detroit causing problems, including fraud. For example, the news sources, News Now and World Net Daily agreed that due to the poll books not matching the number of polls it lead to them thinking of fraud; and shortly after it was proven. People of Detroit set the machines to double count each vote, causing the votes to be up to six times larger than the actual number of people who had voted. This resulted in a serious case of fraud. These sources provide logical reasoning behind their statements, and provides logical reasoning to prove their thoughts. The reliability of these sources very reliable, due to, the fact that they are local newspapers covering a major issue that effected the Presidential poll of 2016.
